    Bottled Relief

    Wednesday, June 29, 2011

~ A cup of fresh well water ~

~ dashed with drops of essential oils ~

    ~ A bottle of bug relief ~

(Natural disclaimer ~ If you are used to the expensive hardy chemical coverage this spray will leave you itchy…
This cheap natural alternative only works if you spray liberal and apply often. )

    Pegged Gifts

    Tuesday, June 28, 2011

One year ago last month ~ the week of the lilac bloom ~ I hung white sheets in a forest grove. One year and one month later I draped sheets in the trees and let the perfumed blooms fragrance my dreams.

During my jetlagged week I mumbled some ideas to my Dad, something sturdy and lengthy enough to fit a days washing, I think Martha Stewart might have been mention. I then went for a nap and woke to a strung wonder.

Simple delights ~ humbly cherished after years away from natures crystal breath and budding joy, and a father’s handcrafted gift speak straight to this country girls heart!

One of natures richest gifts for health and wellness.

    Abundant over my land.

And have gratefully been harvested into a powder to nurture my family through the winter and a warm oily infusion to massage aches and pains.

One-dollar garage sale buy, coupled with a three-dollar can of white spray paint.

All the girls tights and flailing legging chaos can avoid tight cramped dresser space.

Chaos can breathe a bit prettier.

    A Gabled School Room

A room where dreams are made ~ true.

A long lasting hope for a teaching room built into eves with views of treetops.

    Large and bright.

    Touched with salvaged treasures.

    Back drops for nature’s gifts.

Vintage reds ~ yellows ~ swirls of blue and green.

    Art ~ Books ~ Books ~ Art.

    Room for creativity and display.

I am blessed ~ happy to be the teacher of this charming little home-school.

(I broke my own rules in this room ~ by buying the display cabinets and red chair (brand-new ~ Ikea even!) I was dutifully back on track with my garage sale treasures of table and chairs, baskets and wooden crates, jars and trays, stools and quilts. The wonder of thrifting! I am waiting for my things being sent from afar to fill the vacant spaces on the walls and shelves. But thus far I am thrilled. This room is what my dreams have been made of…)

    We walked.

    Enjoyed the sights.

    Played at parks.

Each one trying to ignore the shadows of good-bye looming ahead.

Good-bye to Europe and our overseas adventures ~ Good-bye to each other for another season of living in different homes on different continents.
