I sit with the drown of Nigerian rush-hour traffic blaring from the roads below.
Still amazed that in thirty hours you can be transported to a different world, so entirely different! I am here in my home and life built on Africa. Wading through the sluggishness of time change and working on a properly running schedule. Roger keeps teasing me saying that our Nigerian maid is just as helpful and a whole lot cheaper then his Canadian bride! I guess he had high hopes that his enthusiastic travel loving family would return, sadly he realises we have all sold our soul to the freedom of the northern wilderness, a world away. Now that I am 'home' and unpacked I have lots of school preparation to do as we are already into the school year and Marion is eager to get learning. I hope to get everything ready to start this Monday. And because I am back in Nigeria and finding things of interest to write about came hard today, I will make mention that I made muffins so I do not look as 'ragamuffinish' to my dear husband!

All's well that ends well... My Mother's favorite pep-talk line!

It is hard to write. It has been a hard week. I tried to write and find the words of inspiration, but they did not come. I felt and saw beauty with sadness, it dangled from the trees, sang through the morning symphony of song birds, danced perfectly with the rising sun, gracefully floated on the autumn blazed leaf. How I wish I could make my journey with the same ease of the seasons. I turn from the glare of good-bye, the haze heavy in my heart. The jets are rumbling ready to escort me away from my home-far from my land. I am grappling for courage to face another year away. As the fragrance drenched petals fade away so I slip from the world I call home. Praying I will find beauty, peace and joy on soil of a foreign world.

As I walked through my home one last time I paused at my favorites, lingering with the memories. The corner I rock my babies, postal service, soaker tub and tea, trees and views, bird feeders, billowy couches, sleep in a nursery he will grow with out...

I am sad to say good-bye.

Today I hung pictures and finished projects. Art I will not see for months... the saying of the day ~ Find beauty in the gray ~.





I found a large framed picture at a garage sale for $1.00 and painted it with magnetic and chalk paint. I will use it to host the family schedule (upon my permanent arrival back to this home)I hung a bulletin board on the adjacent wall, now all the info myself and family will need will be located right before our eyes!
